Isaac Major on Applied AI
A straight read for the people who have to make AI work inside a team. I write about where AI meets the day-to-day reality of running an operation, what pays off, and what quietly stalls. A few emails a month. No pitch.
What shows up in your inbox
Every issue is one piece of thinking, not a roundup of links. A real example from running an operation, an argument about where AI belongs in it and where it doesn't, written plainly and honest about the parts I'm still working out.
If a stretch goes by without something worth sending, nothing shows up. That's the deal.
Who it's for
Owners, CEOs, COOs, and CIOs, and the operating leaders who own a number and a team. The people who have to decide whether AI is worth real money and real change, usually without a research team to lean on. If you've sat through a meeting where "we need an AI strategy" went unquestioned and undefined, you're who I write for.
It's probably not for you if you want prompt tips, model benchmarks, or someone to promise AI will 10x your business. It won't, and I won't tell you it will.
Who's writing this

I'm Isaac Major. I spent my career on the operating side of growth, scaling sales, customer experience, and outsourcing teams across global enterprises. Now I write about where AI meets that work, and help a few companies get it to pay off in the operation instead of the press release. When I'm not sure about something, I say so.
Read one before you decide
Everything is published in the open first. Read one. If it doesn't earn your email, the rest won't either.
- Notes on SimplicitySimplicity isn't the absence of complexity. It's the result of understanding a problem well enough to solve it cleanly.
- A Weekend with a Side ProjectNo stakeholders, no deadlines, no Jira tickets. Just you and a dumb idea that might turn into something.
- Designing with ConstraintsLimitations aren't obstacles to creativity. They're the structure that makes creativity possible.
The fine print
- How often?
- A few times a month, whenever there's something worth sending. I'd rather skip a week than waste yours.
- What does it cost?
- Nothing. No paid tier, and no upsell waiting a few issues in.
- Will you pitch me?
- If I find something genuinely useful to you, whether it's a tool, a resource, or my own work, I'll share it and be plain about what it is.
- Can I reply?
- Yes, and it comes straight to me. It's a small list and a real inbox, so I read what you send.
